Dr. Long Nguyen (Dr. Long) is the Professor and Chair of the Stock Development Department of Construction Management, U.A. Whitaker College of Engineering at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU). Before joining FGCU in 2011, he worked as a construction consultant at Jax Kneppers Associates, Inc. in Walnut Creek, California and the deputy director of Tuan Le Construction. He is a professional engineer registered in California. His teaching and research interests include project planning and controls, quantitative methods in construction, and resilient built environment. More recently, Dr. Long's interests also include Practical AI for Sustaining Education in Construction Management (PRAISE CM).

Dr. Long earned M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering with concentration in construction from the University of California, Berkeley, the M.Eng. in Construction Engineering and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand), and the B.Eng. in Civil Engineering from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology (Vietnam).
